In our experience, the service provided by parcel carriers is inappropriate for plants, as insufficient care is taken with parcels and they may be subject to long delays. For several years we have preferred to use a courier service. The plants are packaged openly in boxes and kept upright. Generally, they arrive the next day from despatch. They are treated well and arrive promptly. The courier service is available throughout the year, although we would not normally send plants out over the harshest part of winter unless specifically asked to. Please note that the "next day delivery" does not imply your order will arrive the day after we receive it. Orders go into the queue and are batched up weekly. If there is a problem with your order, so that a number of plants are not available, we will normally contact you. With a catalogue of over 2500 plants, it is impossible to grow everything at one time. |

Size of Plants |
| Unlike most nurseries, we send out container grown plants still in their containers. Usually they are the same plants sold at the nursery, not grown specifically for mail order. Customers, therefore, receive larger plants that can be left in containers outside and will continue to grow if they cannot be planted immediately. Some other nurseries send small, often bare-rooted plants in order to reduce postage costs, requiring immediate re-potting or planting out. Our plants simply need unpacking and watering as it becomes necessary. |
| Order and Despatch |

If you would like plants to arrive around a particular date, or not to arrive when you are away, please make a note under 'delivery instructions' on the order form. Do not request deliveries for specific dates, specific times of day, or within unreasonably short periods. It is also helpful to indicate if there is anywhere for the courier to leave the plants if you are out, because otherwise the driver will return the plants to the depot. If you encounter any problems with the way the plants have been delivered or their condition, do let us know immediately. We will deal promptly with any complaints received soon after delivery, but plants are living things subject to damage by pests, diseases and ill-treatment and we do not guarantee their health indefinitely. |
| Discounts |
| For single purchases at the nursery, and for courier orders, there is a 5% discount over £100, (before courier charges). 10% discount is given for orders over £200, (before courier charges). We do not offer wholesale terms, though there may be additional discounts for large or repeated orders. |
| Collecting Orders |
| Orders may be collected from the nursery by prior arrangement.
