Bernwode Plants is primarily a nursery to visit, to discuss planting plans, get advice and collect trees. We sell fruit trees to the general public and are not wholesale suppliers. We grow the trees here, and our aim is to provide a wide and interesting choice of old and rare varieties. Please bear in mind that we do not sell the hardware, gifts, etc. associated with garden centres. We operate a mail order service, delivered by courier. Full details and order forms are in the catalogue, and the information is also available on this website. Click here. Trees are not books or clothes and we have chosen not to offer an online ordering service, at present, except for the catalogue. The normal nursery opening times are shown above, but customers are welcome at other times by prior arrangement. In particular, customers can come and discuss, choose and collect fruit trees over the winter months. While our fruit trees are container grown and can be bought and planted at any time of year, if you want to collect them outside opening times, please telephone to arrange a convenient time. Please remember, we recommend you telephone before you visit, to check availability if it is important and if you are coming for a particular variety. For visitors coming in parties, we must stress that the access and site cannot accommodate full size coaches. |

The nursery is 14 miles (22km) from Oxford, 6 miles (10km) from Bicester and 10 miles (16km) from Aylesbury. It is only 40 miles (70km) from central London and 8 miles (12km) off junction 9 of the M40.
Bernwode Plants is outside Ludgershall, where visitors tend to get confused by road signs. If in Ludgershall, take the road to Wotton and Kingswood, but it is much better to approach the nursery from Kingswood on the A41, while will bring you directly to the nursery entrance. If approaching from Brill, turn right towards Wotton and Dorton, then left towards Kingswood. Avoid going directly from Brill to Ludgershall. |
