Mail Order by Courier - now available only for fruit trees

For customers unable to visit the nursery, we offer a mail order service, for delivery by courier. Trees, being container grown, can be sent out and planted at any time of year. They are sent on a 'next day' service, meaning the day after despatched, not the day after ordered.

If it is not convenient to plant them immediately, they simply need unpacking and can be left outside, where they will come to no harm if kept moist (not waterlogged).

Please note that the courier delivery service details below only apply to mainland Britain, excluding islands and the far north of Scotland. While we can send trees to these UK locations the courier charges to us can be significantly higher, so we may have to make an additional charge. Please enquire for details. We do not send trees abroad.

Courier Charges

For up to 4 trees the charge is £15.00. For each additional tree, please add £1.75 per tree. For northern Scotland and non-mainland Britain the charges are higher - please enquire.

How To Order

It is best to use the order form in the catalogue. If not, please telephone with the order, or e-mail it to ask@bernwodeplants.co.uk. along with full address, including postcode, and daytime telephone contact numbers. We also need to know where the courier is to leave the parcel if you are out. This is compulsory. If you are likely to be away, please include details of this on your order.

Please note that there is no on-line ordering, except for the catalogue and gift tokens. If you are concerned about availability, please telephone first. It is always preferable to include a list of substitutes, or to tell us to substitute if necessary. We usually have a similar variety available. We will not substitiute unless invited to do so. We do not give out our customers' names and addresses, or telephone numbers, to anyone else.

Remember - please include instructions as to where to leave the plants if you are likely to be out - the courier driver cannot leave the parcel unless he/she is advised by us to do so.

Payment

Use a credit card or a debit card; we accept Mastercard, Visa, Delta and Maestro/Switch. If you prefer to use a cheque, PLEASE DO NOT FILL IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT, in words or figures. Instead, use a LIMIT CHEQUE, as follows. Make the cheque out to Bernwode Plants, and sign and date it. Write vertically up the cheque, between the two lines which cross it, 'not to exceed £x', where x is the total cost of the order, including postage. If some of the trees are not available, we can then make out the cheque for the lesser sum, and avoid the need for a balancing cheque, saving nuisance to you and cost to us. Small businesses pay high bank charges.

Order and Despatch

We do not normally acknowledge orders. Please do not request deliveries for specific times, or within unreasonably short periods. If there is a problem with availability on your order we will contact you. If you do have problems with the order, or the way the trees have been delivered, please let us know promptly.
